I am saddened and worried for the United States over this. Video Games were intended to be a fun activity that you used as an escape from the world from time-to-time. Yet it seems that in the World...no wait, let me correct that, in the United States, the culture of gaming has grown with such ferocity, has become such a mainstay of society, that people in my own home state have found it necessary to shoot others just for a chance at being one of the first to get at the latest in Sony's line of game consoles, the Playstation 3.
I like video games. Heck, I'm right on the middle of working my way through the latest in the Tom Clancy game series "SplinterCell, Double Agent". But to use a deadly weapon to be able to play it on the latest over-rated re-packaged linux computer? I think not.
Play video games, heck, go ahead and buy your self a computer that is designed for nothing but playing games. It's a lot of fun! But please, do NOT get caught up in this hype. It's a drain on the moral fabric of society. That we find it necessary to use our technology to fullfill our primal needs is a sin.
