Saddam Hussein Is Executed by the Highly Efficient Technocracy in Iraq PDF Print E-mail

Saddam “Insane” Hussein was executed in Baghdad, Iraq early Saturday morning.  Saddam was sentenced to death by hanging for authorizing the summary executions of 150 Shiite civilians in 1982.  News of his death was greeted with a mixture of glee and anger by a country torn along ethnic and sectarian lines and descending into civil war.

The speed at which the technocracy carried out Saddam’s execution was amazing.  Saddam was sentenced in November and hanged within 30 days.  Wow! He didn’t get to sit on death row for 20 years and get an advanced degree, go to the gym, read books, watch cable TV, get married, taunt the families of his victims and surf the internet.  Technocrats running the justice system in the United States could learn something from Iraq on how to reduce costs and improve efficiency by implementing Iraq’s death sentence business process.  I am certain the process is of Six Sigma quality.
